How Schools Influence Home Buying Decision

Schools always seem to play a major role in a homebuyer’s search for a home. About half of all the buyers with children under the age of 18 are influenced by the school districts, individual schools and quality of each.

According to the National Association of REALTORS® 2015 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, 25% of home buyers listed school quality and 20% listed proximity to schools as deciding factors in their home purchase.

If you’re a buyer looking for a specific elementary, middle or high school it’s a good idea to contact the school itself before making an offer because as many people have discovered—school districts can, and do, change. With spring here we’ll start to see the next cycle appear and homes will start popping up on the market. If schools play a part in your decision we’ve put together a starter pack to help ease your search.

If you have something else in mind, let me know.
